A fast growing New York City based financial services company with remittance and other financial service products is looking for a Finance Clerk with a keen attention to detail and team-oriented.
Under the guidance and direction of the Director of Finance and Collections Manager, assist in the general activities of the Finance Department while also working closely with the Financial Analyst.
Specific Duties:
Assist in maintaining department reports, agent applications, market pricing, and special assignments.
Assist in promptly resolving all store/customer related issues.
Assist in assuring all agent application forms are complete and meet Finance requirements.
Assist in Agent Setup (Financial aspect) in the internal User Interface. Maintain and update all applicable pricing items (including all fees).
Assist in creating and maintaining all reports applicable to department needs.
Assist on preparing bank reconciliations for all the various banks as well as applying store deposits in a timely manner.
Assessing needs and inputs to improve quality of overall operation, including improvement in user software.
Assist in updating procedures handbook.
Requirements:
2 years of RELEVANT professional experience
Preferably in a money service/transfer business, bank or financial institution
Preferably a BA or minimum AS in business, finance or accounting.
Fluent in English and Spanish.
Advanced Excel (pivot tables & macros) and Word skills.
Knowledge of PowerPoint and MS Project.
Ability to work as part of a team in an entrepreneurial environment, take initiative and show leadership.
Must be able to work independently and meet strict timelines and deadlines, while resolving problems relating to the accuracy of the transactions.
Keen attention to detail and possess strong mathematical reasoning for problem resolution.
Must be creative and proactive especially relating to proven problem solving skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills due to frequent interactions with customers and agents.
